Frequently asked questions

What is HWPX?

HWPX is Hancom's XML-based document format, standardised in Korea as KS X 6101. It packages the document as a zip of XML parts, much like DOCX does, and Hangul 2014 and later open it natively.

Should I choose HWPX or HWP?

Choose HWPX when you are on Hangul 2014 or later. Choose HWP when the file has to open in an older release, or somewhere that accepts the .hwp extension only.

What happens to my tables?

Table text is preserved but flattened: each row becomes one paragraph with tab-separated cells. The table structure itself is not rebuilt.

Can I convert an older DOC file?

No. The Word 97-2003 DOC format is not supported. Re-save the file as DOCX in Word, then convert it.

Is my document sent anywhere?

No. Your file never leaves your device. The conversion runs entirely in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
