Supports files up to 100 MiB each.

Drop in a file, click convert, and you're done. Everything runs directly in your browser with no upload to wait for, and the result is ready to download right away.

Things to know

  • The video is re-encoded, so processing can take a while and the result may differ from the original in quality.
  • If your browser supports WebCodecs hardware encoding, conversion starts immediately; otherwise a media engine (about 32MB) is downloaded once before converting.
  • Subtitles, data tracks, and original metadata are not preserved.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of MP4 file is produced?

The output is an MP4 with H.264 yuv420p video and the first audio track encoded as AAC 192kbps. MOV files without an audio track can still be converted video-only.

Which browsers can I use?

Any modern browser that supports file selection works, on both desktop and mobile. Since the conversion runs inside your browser, processing time depends on your device's performance.

What is the difference between the quality settings?

Standard uses CRF 23, high uses CRF 20, and maximum uses CRF 18. In general, a lower number means better quality and a larger file.

Are subtitles and recording info preserved?

No. Only the first video track and an optional first audio track are output; subtitles, data tracks, and original metadata are not preserved.

Where is my file converted?

Your file is never uploaded anywhere — it is converted inside your browser. Supported browsers use the WebCodecs hardware encoder; otherwise a media engine (about 32MB) is downloaded once and the conversion runs on your device.
