Frequently asked questions

Why is the WAV file larger than the video?

WAV stores raw, uncompressed PCM data. The result can be several times larger than the lossily compressed original audio.

Which track is used if there are multiple audio tracks?

Only the first audio track is used. Other audio tracks are not included in the output.

Can I convert a video with no sound?

No. If there is no audio track, no output file is produced and you are notified instead.

Does converting to WAV improve the audio quality?

No. Even though it is an uncompressed format, it does not add quality the original never had. It simply unpacks the original audio as-is.

Is my video sent anywhere?

No. Your file never leaves your device. The conversion runs inside your browser and nothing is uploaded.
