Frequently asked questions
Can I extract text from a scanned PDF?
No. Scanned PDFs contain only images of the pages, so there is no text layer to extract. Optical character recognition (OCR) is not supported.
Why do the line breaks differ from the original?
A PDF stores only the position of each character, not the paragraph structure. Lines are reconstructed from that position data, so tables and multi-column layouts may come out with different ordering and line breaks.
How are multiple pages saved?
The text from every page is joined in page order and saved as a single TXT file.
Are non-English PDFs supported?
Yes. The extracted text is saved as UTF-8, which supports most languages, including Korean. Some specialized fonts may not extract correctly, however.
Is my PDF sent anywhere?
No. Your file never leaves your device. Extraction runs entirely in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
